World Flags Song2:58

A song. A few new discoveries.

Spot maple leaves, suns, trees, dragons, stripes and crosses, then meet some unusual flag shapes. Compare France and the Netherlands, Chad and Romania, and Indonesia and Monaco in this playful world-flags sing-along.

This song visits selected flags, not every country. “About two hundred” is a playful rounded count; totals depend on which countries and territories are counted. Denmark’s Dannebrog is commonly described as the oldest continuously used national flag; its legendary origin and documented history are different.

Made for curious kids around ages 6–12 and the grown-ups watching with them. Music and animation created with AI tools under Mike Sego’s direction. YouTube’s video description includes the release notes and credits.

Smarty Party! I'm gonna collect a flag from every country in the world. How many is that? About two hundred? ...Okay. Let's go! Canada's got a maple leaf, bright and red; Japan's got a sun, a circle, round and red; Lebanon's got a cedar tree standing tall; Mexico's eagle's got a snake—on a cactus, that's not all! Brazil's got a sky full of stars at night; Cyprus put its island map right in sight; Bhutan's got a dragon holding jewels in its claws; Kenya's got a shield and two spears—applause! Wave it high! Wave it low! Every flag's got a story to show! Colors and a symbol and a shape that's new— Oh no! Not another red, white, and blue! France has stripes, blue, white, red, standing tall; The Netherlands' red, white, blue lie down, that's all. Russia: white, blue, red in a row; The U.S.: fifty stars and stripes, you know. The United Kingdom crosses in a Union Jack; Norway's got a cross, and Iceland's got one back! Australia and New Zealand, stars of the Southern Cross— So many red, white, and blues, I'm at a loss! Wave it high! Wave it low! Every flag's got a story to show! Colors and a symbol and a shape that's new— Oh no! Not another red, white, and blue! Nepal's not a rectangle: two triangles stacked! Switzerland's a square, and the Vatican's square, in fact. Paraguay's flag has a different back and front; Denmark's is the oldest still flying—not a stunt! Chad and Romania: blue, yellow, red— They're almost the same, just a different shade instead. Indonesia, Monaco: red over white— Twins! Well, one's a little taller... right? Wave it high! Wave it low! Every flag's got a story to show! Colors and a symbol and a shape that's new— Oh no! Not another red, white, and blue! Wave it high! Wave it low! Every flag's got a story to show! Two hundred flags! I did it! ...Wait. Which one was Chad? Smarty Party Songs! Like, subscribe, PARTY!
