Smarty Party! So... I broke something in the lab. But wait! Some of the best inventions started with an "oops." Eleven-year-old Frank left his soda out one night, With a stick in the cup—by morning it froze tight! He licked it, and he loved it, and he called it Popsicle! Then a spring fell off a shelf and it walked—that's the Slinky, a spectacle! Percy Spencer worked on radar, and the candy in his pocket went splat— It melted! So he built the microwave oven, just like that! Oops! I invented it! Didn't mean to, but I'm glad I did! When something goes wrong, don't run away— Look a little closer: it might change the world today! A glue that didn't stick so well sat on a shelf for years, Until a guy used it on bookmarks—Post-it notes! Three cheers! A putty meant for cleaning walls became a toy called Play-Doh; A goo from a rubber experiment bounced—that's Silly Putty, whoa! The Kellogg brothers left their cooked wheat out way too long— They rolled it into flakes, and breakfast came along! Oops! I invented it! Didn't mean to, but I'm glad I did! When something goes wrong, don't run away— Look a little closer: it might change the world today! Alexander Fleming found some mold that made a mess, But it stopped the germs around it—penicillin! What a success! Wilhelm Röntgen saw a glow he didn't plan— He'd found X-rays! Now doctors see inside your hand! And George came home from a hike with burrs all over his hound— Tiny hooks, seen up close, gave us Velcro, holding things down! Oops! I invented it! Didn't mean to, but I'm glad I did! When something goes wrong, don't run away— Look a little closer: it might change the world today! Look a little closer: it might change the world today! So what did I invent? ...A mess. But I'm looking closer! Smarty Party Songs! Like, subscribe, PARTY!
