Smarty Party!
Dinosaur roll call!
Please raise a claw.
Or a wing.
Tyrannosaurus, Allosaurus, strutting on two feet,
Velociraptor's feathered coat is looking pretty neat.
They're theropods! Stomp, stomp! Here comes something grand:
A long-necked crowd of sauropods has joined our marching band!
Diplodocus, Brachiosaurus, necks above the trees,
Apatosaurus, big plant muncher, "Pass the salad, please!"
Not every giant lived together, places, times apart,
But in our make-believe parade, there's room for every heart!
Stomp with the big ones, tap with the small,
So many dinosaurs, welcome them all!
Claws and feathers, horns and plates,
Which one is waiting at the gates?
Stegosaurus wears back plates, a spiky tail behind,
Ankylosaurus brings a club, the tail-end kind!
Triceratops, three face horns, and a frill on show,
Parasaurolophus has a crest, now watch it go!
Pterodactyl, you're a pterosaur.
Different club. Excellent wings.
But someone very tiny has arrived beside my shoe,
A sparrow hops onto the stage and sings a little tune.
Birds are living dinosaurs! The family carries on!
The smallest singer in the band gets everybody's song!
Stomp with the big ones, tap with the small,
So many dinosaurs, welcome them all!
Claws and feathers, horns and plates,
A little bird is opening the gates!
The sparrow would like a smaller microphone.
