The hoodie has 16 synced variants and the original wordmark at 9 inches wide. The tote has the original Pip-on-data-stack artwork at 6.25 × 10 inches. Both use Printful’s existing automated connection. Mike’s Orange / Medium hoodie purchase, order #1005, was received by Printful automatically on October 24. OnTrac reports the hoodie delivered October 29 at 4:59 PM. This paid customer order passed automatic routing, production, carrier handoff and delivery. Physical fit and print quality still await Mike’s inspection. The tote has not had a physical sample order.

These are configured product prices, not placeholder quotes. Supplier shipping and tax are additional. The cap uses Embroidery Plus to retain the teal panel; its first stitched sample, ordered for $32.71, shipped October 24 with DHL. Tracking reports the cap delivered October 29. Physical stitch quality still awaits inspection. It is a different blank from the received Valucap. Printful’s current Yupoong 6245CM palette does not include orange. The orange-filtered dad-hat alternatives checked October 24 did not expose a suitable bright-orange variant, so no orange cap is published. Current supplier cap listing.

Both kids’ products show Synced and Mapped in the native Shopify app, with original print files configured. A test order exposed disabled product syncing; this is now corrected. Fresh Shopify staff sample #1004 now imports automatically with the correct Orange / XL product and original transparent logo artwork. The imported print file and supplier mockup were inspected. The order has been sent to Merchize fulfillment, and automatic fulfillment is enabled for future connected orders. The logo uses a 7.44-inch-wide placement; the Pip artwork is 6.8 × 10.88 inches on the design canvas. All kids’ sizing uses garment measurements, including Large and XL. The first Merchize physical sample will check print scale, hand feel and color.

Checkout and shipping tested.

The final visitor check found Shopify’s remaining private-store restriction. The business-address setup is now saved, private mode is off after reload, and a separate anonymous session reaches hosted checkout. A hoodie and tote bag shows the correct $46 merchandise total; its configured US shipping is $14.28. No additional real purchase was made during these checks.

Shopify Payments test order #1003 completed with an adult Pip tee, Youth XL logo tee and cap: $49 merchandise + $16.34 shipping = $65.34. No real card was charged. Shopify created three fulfillment groups, sent the confirmation, and Merchize imported only the kids’ item. That test is canceled in both systems; its simulated refund is processing. Live payment mode has been restored.

A second kids-only checkout calculated $22 merchandise + $7.89 shipping correctly, but its secure payment widget stalled before submission. No second order was placed. A new zero-dollar staff sample #1004 subsequently passed automatic product and artwork matching. It is one Orange Youth XL logo tee, with $13.40 quoted supplier production and shipping. On October 27, Merchize deducted the approved $13.40 from the existing credit and marked its invoice paid. Merchize generated USPS tracking and recorded the update sent to Shopify. USPS accepted the package October 28 and confirms it is in transit, with estimated delivery November 2 by 9 PM. Physical quality still awaits inspection. This is a brand-funded physical sample, not another customer-card test.

Nine core-cart cases passed: single kids’ shirt, both kids’ designs, one/two/twenty caps, adult + youth, a full family bag, six mixed items and twenty youth shirts. Nine additional expansion cases passed: one/two/twenty hoodies, one/two/twenty totes, hoodie + tote, all five shipping groups, and a twenty-item mixed bag. No orders or payments were created for those shipping checks.

One checkout and one payment. Shopify adds the shipping costs for the product groups; items can arrive in separate packages. Rates include current holiday surcharges. Adult tees, caps, hoodies and totes: allow approximately 2–7 business days for production plus 3–5 business days in US transit. Merchize’s current kids’ order lists 1–3 business days for production and 1–11 business days for transit. Delivery dates are estimates and peak periods may take longer.

Prices with a small cost cushion.

The aim is affordable brand merchandise, not profit. At the displayed prices, estimated remaining contribution on a single-item order is about $2.19 for an adult tee, $2.12 for a kids’ tee, $3.45 for a cap, $3.02 for a S–XL hoodie and $2.13 for a tote after production, matched shipping and an illustrative 2.9% + $0.30 payment fee. The kids’ estimate also includes the stated 4.4% funding fee on production and shipping.

Those amounts are before supplier sales tax, tax-related payment fees, replacements, refunds and Shopify overhead. The cap’s first $6.50 digitization cost is a brand setup expense. Exact customer-payment rates depend on card type. Supplier tax and final per-order charges must be checked before lowering prices further.

Ignoring supplier tax and overhead, approximate single-item mathematical floors are $12.75 adult XS–XL, $8.82 youth and $19.46 cap. These are not safe advertised break-even promises. Current $15 / $11 / $23 / $27 / $19 starting prices leave a modest buffer; Shopify’s monthly subscription is paid by the brand.

What works today, and what remains.

The shop is open for real purchases. Customers can browse seven real products, select colors and sizes, use measurement charts and build a mixed shopping bag. Shopify Payments and payouts are active. A hosted payment test passed, adult fulfillment and tracking have been demonstrated, and the new youth order now carries its correct production artwork.

Separate unfinished work: California seller registration

CDTFA is the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration—the state’s sales-tax agency. A California business selling taxable physical merchandise directly through its own shop generally needs a seller’s permit. The permit is free. Selling at cost does not by itself remove that obligation. Shopify Payments processes cards; it does not register the business for California sales tax. Official seller-permit requirements · Shopify tax setup.

California seller registration and the corresponding Shopify tax settings remain unfinished. Mike explicitly authorized opening checkout while pursuing registration separately online and by email. No seller’s permit has been issued or tax ID added. The store’s ability to accept a payment is not confirmation that registration is complete.

CDTFA replied October 29 with the online route: create the owner’s individual logon, select “No” at the prior-account question as their representative recommends, then apply for the LLC’s new business activity. They say the sales start date can be backdated if needed and permits are usually issued the same day. The owner-login form is prepared; identity verification and creation of the new login credentials still need completion. No permit has been issued, and no tax ID has been entered in Shopify.

Why Merchize and why prepaid credit?

Printful makes the adult shirts, caps, hoodies and totes. Merchize supplies the required bright-orange and navy Gildan youth shirts. Customers use one Smarty Party shopping bag and one Shopify payment; they never need a Merchize account. Orders route to the appropriate printer and may arrive in separate packages. Merchize deducts production and shipping costs from the brand’s prepaid balance, while Shopify pays customer receipts out separately. The $50 credit is for merchandise fulfillment, not a monthly subscription.

Latest verification.

The kids’ checkout works, including in a mixed bag with adult products. On October 27, Merchize automatically deducted the sample’s $13.40 cost from the existing credit and issued a paid invoice. The remaining balance is $36.69. This clears the first-order billing delay. Merchize records production and tracking sent to Shopify. USPS accepted the package October 28 and confirms it is in transit through its Coppell, Texas distribution center. Expected delivery is November 2 by 9 PM. The supplier billing, production and carrier handoff are now demonstrated for this sample. Delivery and physical quality still need verification. Merchize says future eligible orders will process automatically; that still needs to be observed on a subsequent order. No customer action, duplicate sample or new funding is currently needed.

A fresh mixed bag with one of every live product reached Shopify checkout through the main-domain shop: $121 merchandise + $34.81 combined US shipping = $155.81 at the test address. Shopify selected all five shipment groups and displayed live payment controls. No payment was submitted. The earlier completed test payment and Mike’s actual hoodie order provide separate payment/order-routing evidence.

All seven live products now show one consistent primary image per selected color. Photo arrows, thumbnails and alternate model views have been removed throughout the shop. Color choices and garment measurements remain available.

Next after launch.

Hoodies and library totes are now live. Next: an orange embroidered cap, women’s fit, and a small poster collection. These should use the existing fulfillment connections where the blank and color are right. Song and album posters remain promising as one print per order; sticker sheets or bundled packs make more sense than individually shipped stickers.
